August 2019 - Biomedical Research Program

Budding Biomedical Researchers

The Biomedical Research Program draws upon medical students and practicing physicians to prepare college students for the rigors of medical school.

For many years, the Biomedical Research Program at Ascension Providence has attracted a group of exceptional high school and college students to engage in medical education and research taught by a cadre of medical students. This year, in addition to formal education and practicing physician guest speakers, the students were able to participate in several instructional events withing the walls of the Sim Lab. Students were able to see simulated several simulated patients progress into respiratory failure as well as participate in mock codes and perform simulated surgery and colonoscopies. We had a great time hosting them and hope they return next summer!
